Why Are You Here? Drugs.
Addendum: The Valley News has done some more reporting on the story:
The 22-year-old is a 2013 graduate of Dartmouth who is renting a room on the second floor of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He was not injured.
None of the men are affiliated with Sigma Nu fraternity, [Acting Hanover Police Chief Frank] Moran said, and police think the alleged drug use was confined to the room the 22-year-old Dartmouth graduate was renting.
“In fairness to Sigma Nu, this does not appear to be something involving the fraternity or its membership,” Moran said. “As far as we’re aware, it appears these guys were doing their own thing” and were not in the company of Sigma Nu brothers.
Moran said the other two men were located at another fraternity, but would not comment on the exact location or why the two men weren’t with the 21-year-old who fell.
Moran wouldn’t comment on whether anyone witnessed the fall, but said numerous interviews were conducted and police found the other two men after interviewing witnesses.
Moran said he didn’t know if there were other people at Sigma Nu at the time of the fall.
“It’s an interesting time of night. It’s before 6 p.m. People are heading to dinner,” Moran said. “It’s part of the dynamic that makes this a little unusual.”

How Regents Should Reign
As Dartmouth alumni proceed through the legal hoops necessary to defuse a Board-packing plan—which put in unhappy desuetude an historic 1891 Agreement between alumni and the College guaranteeing a half-democratically-elected Board of Trustees—it strikes one…
