All Is Vanity
I never thought that I’d be praising Jim Wright’s modesty (though, to be fair, he did have much to be modest about, pace Winston). At least Wright chose to have his bio note that he was the College’s Acting President — while President Freedman was being treated for cancer — prior to becoming Dartmouth’s President.
The current Acting/Interim President has no such reticence.
Addendum: An alumnus writes in:
I just got off the phone with Dartmouth Public Affairs, who told me that they run the website for the College. I asked them what Folt’s title is … they told me, Interim President
I asked them why Folt is then named President over and over on the Dartmouth website that they run. They said it was on orders from Interim President Folt that she calls herself President…
