Dartmouth Public Now Not So Public
Do they just do this kind of thing to irk me, or is there a real policy to take good things at the College and mess them up?
Yesterday while I was at Collis watching the Olympic soccer semi-final (USA 4 - Canada 3; a great game), I could not get my e-mail on my iPhone via the Dartmouth Public WiFi network. Now I know why:
Previously, Dartmouth Public was just an unsecured network. Easy on, easy off, for people coming through the campus. Now it is a hassle. Why the change?
Addendum: A great many stores in Hanover, and my own business in Lebanon, offer free, unsecured WiFi to passersby. What is Dartmouth going to put on its splash page? Advertising?
