Breaking: Looks Like We Made It!
The capital campaign is over! Long live the capital campaign!
Dear Faculty, Students and Staff,
Dartmouth reached an important milestone last week. The Campaign for the Dartmouth Experience achieved its goal. A total of 65,174 people and organizations contributed $1.308 billion to the effort.
The campaign enabled Dartmouth to add to its curriculum new fields of study, so students receive an education relevant to the challenges of their time. It provided essential scholarships, so students could take advantage of a Dartmouth education. And it gave you the facilities, equipment, and program support to do your best work.
I encourage you to visit the website http://dartmouthexperience.org where you will see a press release and details about the impact of contributions on the quality of the student experience in Hanover and in communities around the world.
Dartmouth is a stronger institution because of the gifts invested in each of the last seven years. We now press ahead with new ambitions. While the decline in our endowment dictates that we first reduce our expenses and select new initiatives strategically, we proceed confidently. I want to thank our donors, volunteer leaders, development team, and all members of the community who worked tirelessly to make the campaign successful.
With gratitude,
Jim Yong Kim
