The Reasoning Is Sound, But It’s a Shame Nonetheless
Dartmouth’s fine Alumni Magazine has announced that it will no longer publish alumni obituaries in future editions. These will appear on-line in longer form (250 words rather than 150) and possibly with pictures at the DAM’s soon-to-be-launched website. Cost was cited as the principal reason for the cuts. Classnotes will remain.
I must admit to being an attentive reader of this section of the magazine. It is sobering to read of the passing of men and women who were once 18-year-old freshmen in Hanover with their whole lives ahead of them.
