A Soldier’s Life: Part I Clarification
A quick response to a reader’s comments on Part I. A member of the Admissions Department or First-Year Dean’s Office informed me of the refund policy. And, I had not read the rest of the policy stating In any instance where it is felt that individual circumstances may warrant exception to the Refund Policy, the student may appeal in writing to the Controller. That said, I did not have consistent access to a computer at the time and felt as though I would be given good information via my phone calls. After all, isn’t that the point of having First-Year Deans and the like? To answer questions?
The issue at hand remains that Dartmouth should have an institutionalized response to a student’s deployment so that when the matter comes up again, a refund of FULL tuition will occur without written appeals to the “Controller.”
