Silence is Golden (Handcuffs)
More changes inside the administration: the newest announced departure is that of Rovana Popoff (a senior administrator in the Dean of the College’s Office). The D reports that Sylvia Spears had notified the faculty and administrators of Popoff’s departure several weeks ago, and that “Popoff could not immediately be reached for comment on Monday.”
I can tell you that she won’t be commenting any time soon. Why?
For the same reason that Tom Crady is silent, and every other member of the dearly departed brigade doesn’t voice a word of criticism after leaving town. The College obliges fired or resigning employees to accept a legal gag in exchange for the payment of their severance package. We’re talking real money here, sometimes several years of salary if a dismissed employee is on a fixed-term contract. But hey, spending money so that nobody spills the beans on the disorganization, and worse, inside the administration is tuition dollars well spent, right? Can’t have anyone embarrassing the College…
Note: While we are examining the ranks of the remaining folks in Cradyland, what has happened to Kate Burke, Special Assistant to the Dean of the College? You can find her here, but not here. The College’s website scrubbers seem hard at work.
Oh my.
Update: The D’s story has been updated with many a quote from the departed Popoff. See if you can find meaning in anything she says, or are her words just full of sound signifying nothing. The truth: she was fired by Tom Crady just before he himself left in flames.
