Aquinas House Welcomes New Chaplain
Dartmouth will soon be welcoming a new priest to its Catholic Student Center. Father Jonathan Kalisch, OP will replace Father Michael McCormack, OP as Director of Aquinas House. He has spent the last five years as chaplain at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. McCormack’s tenure as director of Aquinas House was controversial among students, as he enacted new policies limiting social events, restricting use of the parking lot, and exerting tight control over the elections of the student leadership.
Kalisch comes to Hanover with a degree in Political Science from Georgetown University. He cited a trip to the Holy Land as the impetus for his decision to become a priest. Kalisch will join his fellow Dominican friars in the Hanover area, Father Francis Belanger, OP, Assistant Director of Aquinas House and Fr. Warren Becket Soule who is the pastor of St. Denis, the Catholic Church serving the greater Hanover community.
