Bush Bust in Bailout Bailout
Because of the pace of things it is now becoming clear that the auto bailout bailout was hooked-up from the beginning, and that the procurator of this fresh foolishness was the Bush White House, in whose halls the following thinking ran:
ELEMENT A. We are nearly done here.
ELEMENT B. No one likes us.
ELEMENT C. ‘Twould be nice if someone liked us.
ELEMENT D. How terrible would it look if GM files for bankruptcy in our last couple of weeks? Forevermore there would be lamentations for Obama. Dramatic stuff, like ‘we were so close to saving General Motors. If only Obama had been in charge two weeks sooner.’
ELEMENT E. We must prevent this.
ELEMENT F. Wait, isn’t bankruptcy protection exactly what the companies need to go through in order to restructure properly?
ELEMENT G. Must explain that.
ELEMENT H. Can’t figure out how to explain that.
ELEMENT I. Let’s bailout the bailout.
