Job Opportunity in Property Rights (IMPT: Pending)

Courtesy of Career Services, a fantastic job opportunity for undergraduates with an interest in property rights. The Castle Coalition, a branch of the Institute for Justice which has come to prominence fighting for individual rights in the Kelo v New London eminent domain Supreme Court case and others, is looking for a research fellow to work in grassroots property rights activism.

Perhaps no matter the result of the election today (though I jokingly subtitled this post Importance Pending), jobs with civil liberties organizations like this one are great places to work for liberty

Specifics after the jump.

Employer: The Castle Coalition

The Castle Coalition is the Institute for Justice’s nationwide grassroots property rights activism project. The Castle Coalition teaches home and small business owners how to protect themselves and stand up to the greedy governments and developers who seek to use eminent domain to take private property for their own gain. It provides activists around the country with the tools and strategies necessary to successfully stop the abuse of eminent domain in their towns.

Position: Maffucci Fellow

From 3 to 6 months. Assist with research projects, help track eminent domain situations across the country, and provide valuable administrative support to staff on a variety of tasks. Interns gain inimitable experience on the front lines of the property rights movement. Full-time and the duration is flexible. Fellows receive a monthly stipend.

Qualif: Candidates should possess exceptional writing skills, be attentive to detail, and have a strong commitment to individual freedom and property rights as well as a familiarity with eminent domain abuse.

Send a Cover letter (detailing your interest in the Castle Coalition), Resume, and Writing Sample to the attention of:
