More Hillary Supporters Turn to McCain…

or, Everybody Loves a Maverick

Donald Trump is just the latest high-profile former Hillary supporter to declare that he will back John McCain in the general election.

Earlier this week we heard about Lynn Forester de Rothschild, who raised over $100,000 for Hillary, express her support for McCain and say of Obama: “I feel like he is an elitist. I feel like he has not given me reason to trust him.”

After Obama secured the Democratic nomination we heard about twenty- and thirty-something percentage of Hillary supporters who refused to back Obama. I have not seen numbers on this phenomenon recently, but if my casual perusal of the Internet is any indication, not much has changed. There has been an explosion of sites to this effect, like the unambiguously named HillarySupportersForMcCain.blogspot.com and a ton of gear on CafePress.com for ex-Hillraisers turned McCain-Palin backers.
