A Little More Color on Russell Brand
Because Russell Brand (Who is Russell Brand? We do not know. More on that below.) needs more color.
Anyway, in The Sun today you can read two hilarious jokes, proposed by Brand, which MTV could not countenance at its Video Music Awards. Says Brand: “they asked me to tone down the gags about Sarah Palin. I wanted to say she was forcing her teenage daughter to have a baby because she is so anti-abortion. But also, as a Republican, she is pro-execution so she is going to give her the electric chair for being a little sl-t. They weren’t keen on that one.”
Such prudes, Viacom executives. They cannot mute his gospel.
P.S. Just who is Russell Brand? I had not heard of him until Zak wrote about him, and I still do not understand why we are meant to concern ourselves with him. Is it because he is lanky and has haggard-looking facial hair? I suppose so. You cannot fight for justice (I am presuming, for the sake of this post-script, that Russell Brand fights for justice) unless you look like the unprepossessing urchins whose cause you imagine you are prosecuting.
