In Arabia today, one Muslim theologian suggested that perhaps celebrating birthdays and wedding anniversaries, and their like, might ultimately be all-right. “No,” replied, strenuously, a superior ranking Muslim theologian called Grand Mufti Abdul-Aziz al-Shaikh. Such unseemly displays of familial esprit makes, in primary effect, Muslims just like Jews and Christians. It is hence contrary to “righteousness” and to Islam itself. So saith Grand Mufti Abdul-Aziz al-Shaikh. How unfortunate.
