This afternoon marks the first day of the 2008 Major League Baseball season, for the New York Mets at least. I have carefully programmed this post to appear at precisely 4:04pm EST, giving us all enough time to watch the video below and leisurely make our way to the television to watch the Mets game at 4:10.

I was originally going to post a Pat Green music video, to mark the first installment of Country Comes to Dartblog. Then I found a clip of Billy Joel singing the National Anthem at Yankee Stadium before a game in the 2000 (Subway) World Series, but abandoned it on account of poor video quality. I settled on a happy medium of the first two ideas with a video of Carrie Underwood singing the National Anthem at Game 3 of last year’s World Series.
