« Yo…two dogs! | Home | A Holy Mission »

Happy Easter to Dartblog’s Christian readership. This Holy Week was for me one of crests and low vales corresponding daily, by chance, to the events of the Passion. But my reasons for dolor and elation were coarse; they were personal, so that the week from Sunday to Sunday was as a smoky mirror, reflecting these last Lenten days of genuine sadness and triumph through the gauze of interpersonal affairs. I was up and I was down for just the wrong reasons.

I now feel rather resolved, though, thanks in no small part to Mass this morning and to having viewed Magdalena Kožena, supra, performing J. S. Bach’s “Mein Herze schwimmt im Blut,” BWV 199, a sweet cantata about reconciliation. Ms. Kožena performs under John Eliot Gardiner’s baton.
