6 Muslims Planned to Storm Ft. Dix; Kill “as many soldiers as possible”

The news is just breaking now, but undoubtedly more will be coming in soon.

UPDATE: There are further details here. The television reporters are evidently referring to the suspects over and over as “ethnic Albanians” which is a mite off since the fact that they are ideologically anti-American Muslims seems more immediately salient. This looks a lot like another failed terror plot rather than the first salvo in a great new Albanian crusade against the United States.

More…Their orders were to “kill as many soldiers as possible.” The FBI conducted the arrests. Five were from the very nice suburban town of Cherry Hill, which is consistent with the profile. All will appear in federal court in Camden today. (I’ve been ‘round that court and those judges. They’ll find no love.) The men attempted to purchase assault rifles—they trained in firing in the Poconos—but the dealer betrayed them to the FBI. Three of the men are brothers.

The men’s homes were raided; videos were found of the planning…railing against America; videotapes found when the terrorists brought it to be converted to DVD…FBI believes them to be Islamists.

This terror plot I imagine is not a top-down planned one. The Islamist elites rarely recommend going after hardened targets.

Press conference at 2:30 eastern.

A lovely loss for the jihad.

UPDATE: Michelle Malkin has much more.

UPDATE: George Potts e-mails: “Bill Clinton’s ‘war from 15,000 feet’ was to save Albanians from being ‘ethnically cleansed’ by the Serbs. I guess that these six Albanians weren’t old enough to read about our prior sacrifices on their behalf. Or, if they did know about this American act of altruism, they still want to put it to the devil westerners as a sort of cynical radical Islamic ‘thank you.’ Such twisted ethos escapes me.”
