Gosh, you see a headline like “Elis jailed for flag burning” and think Yale has got to be just red-ripe for an old fashioned rally against ‘AmeriKKKa.’ Of course, it is valuable to stop for a moment—the moment when you’d usually be shouting the word “fascist” in various tones of voice—and consider that the flag torched by three Yalies, Hyder Akbar ’07, Nikolaos Angelopoulos ’10 and Farhad Anklesaria ’10, belonged to someone else. And happened to be attached to, well, a house.

So, jail for flag burning? That sounds about right.
