Time Magazine, struggling to avoid Newsweeking itself, has relaunched its website. The New Yorker has done the same, although backend woes have left the site cripplingly slow. Also a part of that latter relaunch, the capacity for in-house writers to maintain public blogs. The first is New Orleans Journal, written by Dan Baum. Dartmouth’s own New Orleans journal is of course here, and is written by Nathan Empsall.

Relatedly, I was pleased today to stumble upon Alex Ross’s blog. Ross is The New Yorker’s music critic, and he spends his days trying to convince the people around him that classical music is not, in fact, dying. He’s right, I think.
