The Special Relationship
18 Doughty Street, Stephan Shakespeare’s clever Internet-based political movement in Britain, has produced and is circulating a series of advertisements that aims to bed down Britons’ recent anti-American simmer, and to remind Britons of the shared Enlightenment tradition—free minds, free markets, freedom of speech, and all the others which we say and don’t do—that has for centuries joined the two nations at the hip. And, of course, saved not a few lives.
