The secret about the politically ascendant “netroots” — this is the word for grassroots leftist bloggers, whereas bloggers on the right are cogs in the vasty, foamy, Karl Rove dream machine — is that they’re nasty, crazy, mean-spirited people who’d never win an election in a million years so long as 1) they said what they believed and 2) decent people were voting. This little secret has piqued public consciousness with the John Edwards/Amanda Marcotte fracas. Now the thing has been resolved as prettily as John Edwards’s hair.
