The Fighting Sioux tied Dartmouth 1-1 this evening. Informants report a single elderly protester outside Leede Arena, whose sign read, “Indians are people, not mascots.” The protester’s offensive sign went unchallenged by those in attendance, who ignored the faux pas and enjoyed the game between Dartmouth and the University of North Dakota’s Native American-inspired Fighting Sioux.

UPDATE: I’m told that the game ended, in fact, 4-1 in UND’s favor. Listed attendance was sell-out—4500 people.
