The Chronicle of Higher Education completed its annual survey, and newspapers such as The Albany Times Union are reporting. Without dillydallying, here are the standings in the Ivy League. Note that these figures represent, to the best of my knowledge, base pay, and include neither benefits (often houses and cars in addition to healthcare) nor bonuses.

8. James Wright, Dartmouth College, $479,233
7. Lawrence Summers, Harvard University, $595,871
6. Shirley Tilghman, Princeton University, $595,982
5. Ruth Simmons, Brown University, $684,709
4. Lee Bollinger, Columbia University, $685,930
3. Amy Gutmann, University of Pennsylvania, $767,030
2. Richard Levin, Yale University, $778,935
1. Jeffrey Lehman, Cornell University, $1.004M

Part of Jeffrey Lehman’s pay package included departure compensation due him when he left the position of president after two years on the job.
