The Clinton policy of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” has resulted in the ousting of a “highly-regarded” Arabic linguist who was helping the United States in the War on Terror, according to the U.S. Newswire release posted by Andrew Stuttaford at National Review. Andrew calls it a “very September 10th” move, and who can disagree? The national security agenda, in all considerations, trumps the social agenda. Why should it be any different in the crucial arena of enemy linguistics?
