That Poor Imam—So Misunderstood

Australia’s chief Muslim, Sheikh Taj El-Din Hamid Hilaly, said a while ago that, “If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside on the street, or in the garden or in the park, or in the backyard without a cover, and the cats come and eat it … whose fault is it, the cats or the uncovered meat? The uncovered meat is the problem.”

He was trying to explain to infidels why Islam’s notion of prosecuting women who are raped is a smart idea. Now the imam is resigning because of that. But not before he calls for the destruction of the White House.

Can we really blame Hilaly? He is living in such an oppressive, Westernized nation; full of infidelity, evilly fighting in Iraq, and proudly supporting the war on terror. How disaffected he must be. Perhaps we should try to understand him.
