Robert Miller Sings the Star-Spangled Banner

One more video before night falls on this Memorial Day. Here is baritone Robert (known to audiences as Merrill, and born Moshe) Miller singing, correctly for a change, our wonderful national anthem. This is from a 1944 Fox Movietone film. Miller, incidentally, died in October 2004 as one of the most famous American voices—he opened the Yankees season for years with the national anthem, and was a regular on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera, notably as Rossini’s Figaro.
