At Long Last…
Posting has been light because of autre obligations, but here is your notice—the very last patina of decency has melted away. According to this letter just electronically distributed by the current leaders of Dartmouth’s Association of Alumni, alumni shall have no elections and indeed no meeting whatever this upcoming October. No chance for change. The annual October meeting was announced last meeting, as ever. The constitution requires it. It was planned; was planned upon. But no more. Not if allowing the annual elections to happen might harm the constitution which they have stewarded so zealously and dishonestly. To put too fine a point on it: The current people in charge have decided not to put their own offices up for a vote.
More to come, but this is very bad.
UPDATE: One question remains, here.
Did you mark what Joseph Welch says at the very end? “I think it hurts you, too, sir.” And it did, and it will.
