The Michigan Professor’s Sorry Defense

Right-leaning bloggers who also happen to be academics are constantly worried about being thought less of because they express quick opinions online. Some even started blogging under pseodunyms for that reason, or shut down their blogs and moved to anonymous ones after grim stories about colleagues being cast down for blog postings. Some go on hiatus when tenure review time comes. But I don’t imagine Juan Cole is at all worried about his integrity being questioned when a legitimate news analyst levies acute criticism of his work and Professor Cole can retort only, “You drunk!”
