Harry Reid, through his spokesthing, explained to an uninterested press why he is keeping approximately $30,000 that Jack Abramoff swindled from an Indian tribe and gave to the Democrat as a political gift: “He feels that Abramoff was a Republican operative and this is a Republican scandal,” said Mr. Reid’s spokesman, Jim Manley. “He’s done nothing improper.”

This is the sort of unintentional honesty that Republican strategists are dreaming about.
