Are You Scarebussed Yet?
It is no great surprise that the cruel JetBlue flight 292, where passengers could not but watch in trepidation as their plane circled the skies in preparation for a fiery landing upon failed landing gear, was aboard an Airbus airliner.
The circling went on for hours, since Airbus planes do not have the ability to dump fuel (which had to be consumed or emptied so that the jet would be less of a Giant Bomb at touchdown time) but there is another, more worrisome technical fault at play. This incident marks the seventh time that the front landing gear of an Airbus jet locked at a 90-degree bent, forcing an emergency landing.
