Another insurgency Story: Philippines, 1900

I intended to link to this fascinating TigerHawk post twenty-four hours ago, but a hodgepodge of computer and network problems got in my way.

The insurgency in the Philippines (1898 – 1901) understood and acted upon American presidential politics. The leader of the insurgency, a young, charismatic provincial mayor named Emilio Aguinaldo y Famy, was well aware of the election of 1900…
The parallels to the terrorist threat we face today are staggering.
