Los Angeles Times Is Below Bloggers

There is no written code of conduct for those who opine and investigate exclusively online. But there are a lot of unwritten rules. One is that you never, ever, edit a post in any meaningful way without making a clear and public note of it within that same post. The L.A. Times, it appears, doesn’t subscribe to that basic level of earnestness. The paper accused the Bush Administration of only considering “white men” for the SCOTUS- a demonstrably false statement- and then silently corrected it on its website, but never in print. Cheap.
