ABOUT THE AUTHOR

JOE MALCHOW Hail, and well met! I am from Scotch Plains, New Jersey, and am currently studying American government at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire as a member of the class of 2008.

This page will include both considered writings and those hastily dispatched on such topics as politics, the media, the state of the English language (which I believe to be the very finest in the world), and the world of classical music. Occasionally, Dartmouth-specific posts go up. This page finds itself with a large audience of Dartmouth alumni, students, and various other affiliated groups, and demand seems to be very high for news and views about the goings-on in Hanover. The advantage of the blog format, as opposed to the Two Minutes Hate format, is that you can skip past the sections which do not interest you.

As the overall tenor of the posts will make plain, I'd place myself in the coterie of young conservatives. I voted to re-elect President Bush in 2004, but I am not a strict party loyalist. Please keep my personal bias in mind when reading.

I also am very interested in high-fidelity audio, recording, radio, and classical music. My favorite composers are Mozart, Haydn, Vivaldi, and Gottschalk. This is my favorite recording. If you are Alison Hagley, the soprano on that disc, will you marry me?

I do voiceovers and audio production on a freelance basis.

I can be contacted via e-mail at: jmalchow -at- dartmouth.edu or via telephone at 908.578.8070.
